The solid stainless steel case with the curved lugs is in very good condition. The case model is 2537-1 and measures circa 35mm in diameter excluding the crown by 42.9mm lug tip to lug tip. Beautiful and factory original dial in with beautiful patina. Clean set of original leaf hands with blue steel aged second hand. (Silver hour and minute hands and numbers/indexes).
Our watchmaker has added a brand new case gasket to the back case.
The movement is an Omega caliber 283 with serial number 11616787 dating this timepiece to 1949.
The watch comes with a ` US NAVY `leather watch band in unworn condition, that surely gives the watch an extra charm. The clasp is Omega signed probably after market.
(One more important fact about this Omega caliber 283. Omega has produced timepieces with this caliber for the RAF (Royal Air Force). The model was best known as the `Omega 53` because it was only issued for one year.)
