1950s Universal Geneve Medico Compax Chronograph in 18K Gold watch case
A rare, attractive 18K Rose Gold chronograph wristwatch with pulsometer scale.
This well preserved, and a desirable variant among the Compax lineage, the present example is cased in the 34.5mm diameter 18K Rose Gold and paired with an exquisite dial in very nice condition.
The Gold Arabic numeral hour markers look beautiful.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a supremely attractive time-capsule piece for any vintage chronograph collectors.
Precision built for fundamental necessity during the 1940s, the Universal Genève Medico-Compax is designed for the medical profession. Based off the more common Uni-Compax collection produced by the firm, the Medico-Compax features a two-register chronograph and a rare blue pulsometer scale on the outer track of the dial adorned by collectors.
To calculate heartrate, the wearer simply has to count 15 beats and stop the chronograph to get the equivalent heart rate per minute.
Can be considered as a very good investment!

Condition:
The case has some scratches throughout, which is normal for a watch this age. The numbers on the caseback are deep and clear to read, also meaning that the watch is in unpolished condition. The gold hallmark remains legible on the side of the case and the lugs have maintained their sharp angles.
The dial is looks very good for its age with light even patina and with a few aging spots throughout.
The blue letters GRADUE POUR 15 PULSATION and the blue numbers are still as bright as when it was first produced. The handset is in in good condition with light patina as well as the numerals. Overall, this is a really fantastic piece.
Working order:
The watch is running and holding time at the moment. The chronograph function is not working at the moment and needs a watchmaker assistance. To set the time is only anti-clockwise possible while carefully and slowly turning the crown. The watch needs a watchmakers assistance.
