1940s Vacheron Constantin in 18K Yellow Gold watch case and bracelet
An early and attractive Vacheron Constantin 18K Yellow Gold wristwatch from the 1940s.
The present exemplar is preserved in excellent condition, with sharp hallmarks throughout and crisp edges. The factory original dial looks stunning, and is very well-preserved for its age.
It furthermore displays a very attractive 35mm diameter 18K yellow gold case with wonderful downturned drops lugs.
The Gold numbers and hands look amazing and the blue central seconds hand is a beautiful.
The integrated wristband is 18K Hallmarked Yellow Gold with a length of 19cm (7.48 inches).
The watch is Gold marked Inside back case, lower left lug, watch case above the crown.
Underneath the clasp the bracelet is 18K Gold Marked.
This watch was give at an end of a big historical event that makes it even more special.
The back case bares a dedication with a name and "PĀGUES 1945 LAUSANNE" meaning "EASTER 1945 LAUSANNE". (Lausanne is a city in Switzerland).
On May 8. 1945 the World War II in Europe came to an end. Easter was just right a month before on Sunday, April 1st.
In about 24 years from now we all will be celebrating the 100st. anniversary of the end of the WWII and this watch will be exactly 100 years old and probably its value will be multiplied from what is worth now.
This fact alone makes this watch a great investment, not speaking of it name, quality and material it was made of.
It makes a perfect gift to someone special, or as an investment.

The watch is in great, honest vintage condition. The case is overall well-preserved with some light scratches. Barely and very gently used.
The Gold hallmark are still clearly visible and inside the back case are deep Vacheron Constantin and 18K Gold Hallmarks.
The Dial and Hands are well preserved and barely show the past 70 years. The crystal shows scratches between 11-12 o'clock that can be polished away by your watchmaker. We have left the watch in all original condition and did not polish any parts as many collectors prefer keeping watches in their original condition.
